Fall is just around the corner which means it’s time for cooler seasons, hoodies, and of course, pumpkin spice. It’s also time for some great fall festivals and fairs in and around Fort Wayne!
If you’re looking for something fun to do this fall, check out these Fort Wayne area festivals and activities.
Johnny Appleseed Festival
One of the most popular fall festivals in Fort Wayne (say that 3 times fast!) is the Johnny Appleseed Festival, which celebrates the life and times of Johnny Appleseed himself through (you guessed it) apples! The festival also features food, crafts, a military reenactment, antiques, music, a farmers market, and so much more!!
This year’s festival will be held on September 17 and 18th at Johnny Appleseed Park
Another popular food fest is the Grabill Country Fair festival. This celebration is centered around the Amish heritage and involves eating traditional Amish foods as well as partaking in arts and crafts.
Feeling like being a little spooky? The Fright Night festival is exactly what you need.
Dress up in your best zombie costume and hit the streets with thousands of other zombies in the free zombie walk parading through the streets of Fort Wayne.
Be sure to check out some of the other free or low-cost activities including ghost walks, movies, trunk or treat, a scavenger hunt, and more. Then, finish your evening doing the Time Warp at the Rocky Horror Picture Show outside at the Botanical Conservatory.
Fright Night takes place downtown on October 15. Check out the Fright Night Survival Guide to view a list, map, and times of all activities.
Nearby Fall Fairs
Only a short drive from Fort Wayne you’ll find two fairs this Fall, the Bluffton Street Fair September 20-24 and the Dekalb County Free Fall Fair will be held September 26-October 1. Get your fill of carnival rides, elephant ears, and fried foods on a stick!
