1. Fort Wayne Veg’n Brew Fest
The weather may be getting cooler, but festival season is quite over yet! If you love food, beer, and music, head out to the Fort Wayne Veg’n Brew Fest at Headwaters Park on October 6th. The event is free to attend from 12-6 so bring the whole family — there are even kids activities! Oh, and did we mention pumpkin shakes? That’s right! What’s a Fall festival without pumpkin! Local and regional vendors will also be serving up plant-based burgers, tacos, gucamole, mac & cheese, sloppy joes, and more as well as craft beers from local breweries Hop River, Junk Ditch, Chapman’s, & Trubble Brew.
The Fort Wayne Veg’n Brew Fest is a one-day festival celebrating compassion for animals, health, and the environment.
2. Wild Zoo Halloween
Give your kiddos a real treat this Halloween at the Wild Zoo Halloween event! Trick-or-Treat at the Fort Wayne’s Children Zoo on October 12-14, 19-21, or 26-28.
Pick a mini pumpkin to bring home and explore the Treat Trails as you see all your favorite zoo animals. Don’t forget to wear your favorite Halloween costume! Visit the zoo between 10 am and 5 pm for a Wild Zoo Halloween.
3. DeKalb County Free Fall Fair
Just a short drive north of Fort Wayne to Auburn, you’ll find the DeKalb County Free Fall Fair. Enjoy rides, a parade, food, entertainment, and more! The Fair runs September 24-29.
4. Fright Night
Check out Fort Wayne’s most anticipated fall event, Fright Night, on October 20 from 9 am – 11 pm. The event features a “Zombie Walk” and other activities for kids and adults of all ages to enjoy. Activities are free or low cost – make sure to check it out!
5. Halloween Spooktacular
Are you a music and Halloween lover? If so, this Halloween Spooktacular event is calling your name. Come to the Philharmonic’s annual concert dressed in your best costume and get ready to hear all your Halloween favorites.
Stop by in the afternoon for younger Halloween fans to enjoy activities and the Instrument Petting Zoo. Stick around to hear John William’s score to the ever-popular Harry Potter movie. Mark your calendars for this event on October 28 from 2 pm – 3 pm.
6. Fort Wayne Hot Cider Hustle 5k
Who said Fall had to be all about food and candy? Take part in For Wayne’s Hot Cider Hustle 5k where friends and family run a 5k. Once you cross the finish line enjoy apple cider with a caramel apple!
The race starts at 9 am sharp. Get your running shoes and your stomach ready for this fun and delicious event.
