What’s Going on this Month?

There’s nothing better than Fort Wayne in the winter. Downtown has been transformed into a Winter wonderland and it may be cold, but we’re not letting that slow us down. Fortunately, there are plenty of events going on around Fort Wayne this month to keep us busy. If you’re looking for an excuse to get out of the apartment, Montrose Square Apartments has put together this guide to help you find some things to do around Fort Wayne in December.

Christmas Events in Fort Wayne

Festival of Trees

December 1st and 2nd, visit the Embassy Theatre for the Festival of Trees. This Fort Wayne Holiday favorite boasts more than 55 decorated trees, Santaland, and animated Holiday window displays.

Franke Park Fantasy of Lights

Each December, Franke Park turns into a wonderland of lights. The Fantasy of Lights features over a mile and a half of bright, beautiful light displays and is a must-see Holiday tradition in Fort Wayne. The Fantasy of Lights runs daily through December 31st.

Trans Siberian Christmas Orchestra

On Thursday, December 3rd, the world renowned Trans Siberian Christmas Orchestra will again be making a stop at the Memorial Coliseum for a beautiful display of lights, music and more! The Trans Siberian Christmas Orchestra’s The Ghosts of Christmas Eve will take you on a Yuletide journey with their wonderful take on Christmas classics.

Christmas on the Farm

December 5th from 1-5pm, visit Salomon Farms for Christmas on the Farm featuring live music, crafts for the kids, holiday vendors, and a visit with Santa Claus.

Santa Train

Don’t miss your chance to ride the train with the one and only, Santa Claus! The Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society’s Santa Train runs the first three Saturdays in December, climb aboard a vintage diesel locomotive and caboose and enjoy a 20-minute train ride with old Saint Nick himself along with live entertainment and food from Bravas.

Mad Ants Basketball

Don’t miss Fort Wayne’s own Mad Ants as they take on the Reno Bighorns on December 22nd! Mad Ants basketball is sure to be a great show every time.

Komet Hocky

Let’s Comedy Presents: Twas Two Nights Before Christmas

The Great Train Show

December 5th & 6th visit the Memorial Coliseum for The Great Train Show – largest model railroad show in Indiana! There will be trains of all shapes and sizes, free workshops, giveaways, and much more!

Botanical Conservatory

Holiday Spirit has hit the Botanical Conservatory! There are plenty of great, inexpensive events going on this month, including Breakfast with Santa, Music in the Garden, and the Garden in Lights. Bring the whole family out to explore a one of a kind show!
