What You May Not Know About Apartment Life

If you’ve never lived in an apartment, you probably don’t know what to expect. If you’re currently considering whether to buy a house or rent your first apartment, read on. We’ve put together a guide of just some of the many, many perks of living in an apartment community. Here’s a few of the things you may not know about apartment life!

1. Nearby Friends

Living in an apartment community, you will be surrounded by some of the greatest people in Fort Wayne! It’s certainly not hard to meet some awesome lifelong friends right outside your front door!

2. Resident Activities

Unlike most housing situations, many apartment communities have super fun activities going on! This makes it easy to find some cheap entertainment right where you live! Plus, more activities means more opportunities to make new friends!

3. Community Living is the Best Living

Even if there’s not a resident party going on, it’s never been easier to make something happen! Put together a game night, potluck dinner, or even a running/walking club with some of your neighbors!

4. Full-Time Maintenance Staff

Murphy’s Law states that anything that can go wrong, will. Fortunately, apartment communities like Montrose Square Apartments have maintenance staff available at all times to fix anything in your apartment! If your shower is leaking, or the A/C goes out, just call the maintenance office, and it will be fixed in no time at all, at no additional cost!

5. It’s Easy on your Wallet

One of the best things about apartment life is that rent is typically cheaper than a mortgage. Also, as we discussed above, if you need a new roof or furnance or something needs repaired, the financial burden is completely lifted off of you! You don’t have to stress about how to pay when something major goes wrong.

6. Shorter To-Do List

You’ve got a lot of things on your plate. Fortunately, living in an apartment means your to-do list is significantly shorter! No shoveling snow in the winter, no mowing grass in the summer; we’ll take care of that for you! The peace of mind that comes with renting an apartment is invaluable!

7. No Long-Term Commitments

Buying a house is a huge long-term commitment. You’re responsible for upkeep, mortgage, homeowners insurance, and eventually selling your house if you decide to move. When it comes to apartments, you’re never stuck in once space. Most apartment communities only require a one-year lease. That means if you get an amazing job offer out of state, you’re not stuck with the financial burden of selling your house.

8. Safety

In apartment communities, residents get to know each other and can quickly spot anything out of the ordinary. There is almost always someone close by who can lend a hand if needed.

9. Smaller Spaces

I know what you’re thinking – how is a smaller space better than a bigger house? Well think about it the next time it takes you all day to clean your house. Aside from that, you will save a lot of money on heating and air!

10. Great Service

Apartment communities are owned and ran by property management professionals, which means it is their full time job to make sure that you are well taken care of.
