A Guide to Some Awesome Fort Wayne Events in October
Fall is certainly in the air here in Fort Wayne. Along with the beautiful scenes of Autumn and the amazing weather, October will also bring plenty of great activities to keep you busy this month! One of the great things about Fort Wayne is the wide variety of awesome events! We’ve put together a guide to some of the great, not to be missed events going on around town this month!
Fort Wayne Farmer’s Market
Every Saturday morning, Barr Street is packed with lots of great local vendors from around the area. Bring the whole family and get some amazing fresh produce, baked goods and more.
Foodstock is quickly becoming a Fort Wayne favorite event! This year’s Foodstock will take place at Headwaters Park on October 8. Bring the whole family for a day full of live music, craft beer, and of course, some of the best food trucks Fort Wayne has to offer! Don’t forget to bring your appetite!
Fall La Chic Market
October 7 & 8, the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum will be hosting the Fall La Chic Market – a fabulous indoor market packed full of amazing home décor, upcycled furniture, vintage antiques, handcrafted jewelry and so much more! Come shop an awesome selection of great looking boutique items or get some ideas for your next home décor project!
Montrose Square Fall Grab ‘n Go
Montrose Square Apartments residents, dinner is on us Tuesday, October 11th from 5-7pm. Swing by the leasing office for a free hot dog, chips, and a soda. Plus, bring a non-perishable food item for the Community Harvest Food Bank to be entered to win a gift card!
Fort Wayne Komets vs. Quad City Mallards – October can only mean one thing – the return of hockey season! Come on out to the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum on October 15 to see our Fort Wayne Komets kick off the 2016 season! See the full schedule.
Here Come the Mummies
Here Come the Mummies are an 8-piece funk band composed of 5000 year old Egyptian Mummies. This is sure to be an awesome night of soul, funk and maximum fun! HCTM has opened for Al Green, Cheap Trick, and has been featured regularly on the Bob & Tom show. Don’t miss this awesome night at the Embassy Theater on October 15th.
Botanical Conservatory Punkin’ Path
Each Fall, the Botanical Conservatory is transformed into a wonderful Fall adventure consisting of pumpkins, gourds, bales of straw and more! Bring the whole family and take pictures with the gnomes!
Don’t miss Fantasticon – Fort Wayne’s newest comic book expo! The Fantasticon will feature lots of vendors from around the country, all celebrating one thing – comic books. This is sure to be an amazing show for collectors, gamers, cosplayers, and all pop culture fans!
Fort Wayne Youtheatre Presents: Legend of Sleepy Hollow
This isn’t just another night at the theater. The Legend of Sleepy Hollow will be a fun, engaging take on traditional theater, transporting you directly into the story. This is sure to be an exciting night full of spooky, entertaining fun at the Parkview Physicians Group ArtsLab October 7-8.
Wild Zoo Halloween 2016
The Wild Zoo Halloween continues to be a Fort Wayne favorite tradition around this time of year! Bring the whole family out to the zoo on October 14 – 31 for trick or treating, a mini maze, lots of awesome decorations, and of course, meet the zoo animals! See the full schedule and list of days.
Fright Night 2016
Fort Wayne’s annual Fright Night is another Halloween favorite tradition around town! This year’s Fright Night will take place on October 15, and will feature the Car Show Spooktacular, Scavenger Hunt at Parkview Field, Lantern Tours, the Old National Photobooth, and of course the famous Zombie Walk! Murder, Mystery, Mayhem Haunted Tours
If you’ve never been on a haunted tour, you’re missing out on a great experience! On October 15, ARCH will be hosting a haunted bus and walking tour around downtown Fort Wayne! Some stops along the way include haunted Northside High School and the GE Building. Come on out and hear some of the chilling stories about Fort Wayne’s history!
Trick or Treating
Fort Wayne Trick or Treat hours for 2016 will be on Monday, October 31st from 5-7pm. Turn your porch light on to welcome trick-or-treaters!
