Fall is in the air here in Fort Wayne, which means there’s about to be plenty of great fall activities going on this month! September means bonfires, football games, and more festivals than you can imagine!


Auburn Cord Duesenberg Festival – (August 28 – September 5) Each year, thousands of classic car lovers flock to Auburn, Indiana for the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Festival. This year, the ACD Festival is celebrating their 60th year! From parades to antiques, swap meets and of course, the classic car show, there will be plenty of fun for the whole family! Brewed IN the Fort: Craft Beer Fest – Come celebrate some of the best local brews available! This year’s Brewed IN the Fort festival will feature 45 different Indiana breweries, food trucks, live music and more! Middle Waves Festival – Something exciting is happening here in Fort Wayne… The very first Annual Middle Waves Music Festival will be taking place at Headwaters Park on September 16 & 17. This year’s lineup consists of some AMAZING national acts such as The Flaming Lips, Best Coast, along with some great local acts like Either/Or, Heaven’s Gateway Drugs, Metavari and more. Be a part of the revolution and don’t miss the very first Middle Waves Festival!

Johnny Appleseed Festival – Fort Wayne’s favorite festival will be taking place on September 17 & 18. Come celebrate the life of Johnny Appleseed at Fort Wayne’s very own Johnny Appleseed park. There will be plenty of authentic food vendors, crafts, demonstrations, entertainment and more! Best of all, the Johnny Appleseed Festival is absolutely free!

Fort4Fitness Festival – September 30 & October 1, come on out to the annual Fort4Fitness Festival at Parkview Field. This awesome festival will feature plenty of interactive displays, activities and of course, the half-marathon and other events.

Salomon Farm Fall Harvest Festival – September 23 & 24, come on out to the beautiful Salomon Farm to celebrate the history and culture of the American farm. This free 2-day event will have lots of awesome activities for the whole family from live animals, antique farm equipment displays, corn husking, wagon rides, and a farmer’s market.

Sporting Events

Yoga on the Bridge – Every Wednesday night from 6-7, join Fort Wayne outfitters on the beautiful Wells Street Bridge for one of the most scenic yoga classes you’ll ever be a part of. Early Bird Nature Walk and Bike Ride – the Fort Wayne Trails Association will be hosting the very last Early Bird Nature Walk and Bike Ride of the season! This event is free and open to the public!

Fort Wayne Farmer’s Market – Every Saturday morning in September, come on out to Fort Wayne’s biggest farmer’s market at the corner of Barr and Wayne street.

Fort Wayne Airshow – September 10 & 11, come on out to the 122nd Air National Guard Base for an awesome day you won’t soon forget. The Fort Wayne Airshow will feature lots of gravity-defying aerobatic acts, high-flying action and plenty of activities and hands-on displays. Best of all, the Fort Wayne Airshow is ABSOLUTELY FREE! Doggone Best Chili Challenge – Lucky Harley Davidson of Fort Wayne is excited to host the 3rd Annual Doggone Best Chili Challenge on September 24. Each year, the Doggone Best Chili Challenge raises over $10,000 for the Allen County SPCA. $5 Admission gives you all the chili samples you want! Kids under 10 are free!


Thirsty Thursday – September 1, the Fort Wayne Tincaps is excited to host the very last Thirsty Thursday of the season! Don’t miss an awesome night full of $1 beers, discounted cocktails, and of course, some of the best baseball action in the state.

Fort Wayne Dance Collective Presents: ART MOVES – Fort Wayne Dance Collective’s fourth annual ART MOVES fundraiser is sure to be a great night. Expect to be wowed by beautiful artwork come to life by members of the Fort Wayne Dance Collective. There will also be plenty of appetizers and a cash bar!
