As we head into August, Fort Wayne continues to be jam packed full of exciting activities! And, even though it’s almost time for back to school, Downtown Fort Wayne and beyond show no signs of slowing down! If you’re looking for adventure this month, you won’t have to look far. Here is a guide to just a few of the awesome events going on this month in and around Fort Wayne, brought to you by Montrose Square Apartments.
Music & Entertainment:
Mary Poppins: The Broadway Musical – Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, from now until August 9, join the Fort Wayne Civic Theatre as everyone’s favorite nanny delivers the magic! You’ll hear classic tunes like “A Spoonful of Sugar,” “Chim Chim Cheree,” “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious,” and more!
Rock the Plaza – Every Saturday night, beginning at 6PM, the Allen County Public Library will be hosting live music! This absolutely FREE event is sure to be a rockin’ good time! To see the full lineup of bands, visit their website, here.
Fort Wayne Fringe Festival – Fringe Fest is back again! August 2-9. The Wunderkammer Art Gallery will be hosting a weeklong celebration of the arts! From Arts, Crafts, Live Music, and Comedy – there’s plenty to see at Fringe Fest!
Lunch on the Plaza – every Thursday from 11:30-1:30, the Indiana Michigan Power Center Plaza fills up with food trucks, hungry crowds, and live music! If you’re looking to get out of the office for a while, come check out this absolutely FREE and awesome event.
Bands on the Banks – Love music? Head out to the 3rd annual Bands on the Banks on August 15th from 6-10pm for a night of live music from 6 area bands, the Bravas food truck, and a beer garden.
For the Family:
Insane Inflatable 5K – Don’t miss the most insane, fun, and wild 5K imaginable on August 8th! The Insane Inflatable 5K features five Kilometers of awesome inflatable obstacles and more! This will be the most fun you’ve ever had while running 5 Kilometers – guaranteed!
Fort Wayne Tincaps Baseball – Looking for a fun night out with the family? You’ll find more than just baseball at a Fort Wayne Tincaps game. Salomon Farmer’s Market – Every Wednesday afternoon, from 4-7, visit the Salmon Farmer’s Market for fresh produce, baked good, live music, hay rides, and more! If you haven’t been to the beautiful Salomon Farm to see the historic barn, it certainly is a must-see landmark around Fort Wayne.
Downtown Auburn Summer Cruise-In Series – August 20th, visit the beautiful city of Auburn — only 20 miles north of your Montrose Square Apartments home, and check out some awesome classic cars! There will also be door prizes, raffles and more.
Montrose Square Apartments Resident Appreciation Superhero Bash – Residents, mark your calendars for Friday, August 21st from 5-8pm and prepare for a SUPER time at our resident appreciation party! Meet and hang out with your neighbors will you enjoy free food, drinks, BINGO, prizes, and more!
